Collectors of the quarter series can rest easy when they hear that they are getting a new quarter stamped with the Grand Canyon on it. This quarter is a part of the new National Parks and Sites series and the Mint America the Beautiful program. The release of this quarter has been highly anticipated for those who have been collecting them.
There are five quarters in the series with three already released, Yellowstone National Park, Hot Springs National Park and Yosemite National Park. After the Grand Canyon is released on September 20, 2010, there is only one quarter that is left to be released which is the Mt. Hood National Forest that is due at the end of 2010. The series is then complete and all collectors of custom quarter have to wait for another series to come out.
The Grand Canyon Quarter features the picture of George Washington on front along with the standard “In God We Trust” emblazoned on it. The back is an etching of the granaries that are situated above the Nankoweap Delta by the famous Colorado River. This is one of the most popular views and one that is the most recognizable for most who have seen pictures but who have never been there.
Those who love to collect all the new quarters that have been coming out in the past few years, the state series as well as this one can rest assured that that they can get their Grand Canyon Quarters on September 20, 2010. The US Mint is allowing orders of up to two full rolls which equal twenty dollars directly from their website. There is no need to wait to get lucky when given change and these rolled quarters are new and have not been circulated yet.
