Grand Canyon Skywalk- Leave your Camera In the Car

The Skywalk at Grand Canyon West

When you visit the Grand Canyon Skywalk, this is one of the most amazing sights you have likely ever seen. This is a fantastic place to take the entire family and kids and adults of all ages will be amazed at the sights visible from the skywalk.

The 10 foot deck of the Skywalk is made of up six layers of special low iron glass and DuPont SentryGlas. This isn’t your typical glass. 46 glass floor panels are said to have been used at over $250,000 each. This is why visitors will be asked to leave their cameras in the car. Dropping it could damage the glass of the Grand Canyon Skywalk.

These floor panels can be scratched or damaged by any falling metal objects. This includes cameras, video cameras, cell phones and more. Don’t worry if you want to keep photos of your visit to the breath-taking Skywalk, however, because there are other options available.

There are actually two ways you can get a picture at the Skywalk when you leave your camera in the car. There are special cameras attached to the bridge and there are special authorized photographers who take pictures with stationary cameras that you can then pick up later at the gift shop. This is a bit like the photos you can get on a roller coaster at theme parks.

Although you have to leave the camera in the car, taking the family to the Grand Canyon Skywalk will be an amazing experience that you and your family will never forget. You can purchase tickets to the Skywalk separately or as part of a tour package.

Current prices are $29.95 for adults, $22.46 for children and $26.96 for seniors or the military. These prices are subject to change so you may want to check first before planning your trip. Sometimes when you purchase as part of a tour package, you can get a discount to see the Skywalk. Upon entry, there is no limit to the amount of time you can stay on the bridge.
